Our Inn strives to accept only members who exhibit high ethical standards and who value collegiality and respect among members of the Court and the Bar. Please enclose two letters of recommendation from practicing attorneys focusing on family/probate law. [2] The letters of recommendation must be authored by individuals outside of your present employment and should include the following information: (i) how long the recommending party has known the applicant; (ii) in what capacity the recommending party knows the applicant; (iii) which characteristics make the applicant a good fit for the Inn, with particular attention to the applicant’s ability to work with the Court and members of the Bar in an ethical/collegial manner; and (iv) specific examples to support the recommendation.

Court staff applicants should submit information relative to three employment-related projects.

Judges do not need to submit references. Other Court applicants must submit two references from court colleagues, such as judges, court officials, or management.
Please note:
Although applications are received on a rolling basis throughout the year, the Board of Directors/Officers generally vote on applications in November and May. Invitations to new members approved by the Board of Directors/Officers will be sent by written letter following such vote.
